Exploring Hot Springs in Beppu, Japan
Greetings from Beppu, Japan! As you may remember from my visit to your mother’s two years ago, my family and I are now living on Guam. This postcard is written from Beppu, located on the island of Kyushu in Japan.
Beppu is known for its hundreds of hot springs that bubble up from the ground. There are many hot baths that one can enjoy – a very important custom in Japan. We feel fortunate to be able to experience this unique aspect of Japanese culture.
From Guam, it was only a short flight to Kyushu, where we have been enjoying the beautiful scenery and relaxing hot springs. The international community here is welcoming and we are grateful for the opportunity to explore this part of Japan.
