Exploring Lisbon: The Elevador de Santa Justa
During my recent trip to Lisbon, Portugal, I had the opportunity to visit the iconic Elevador de Santa Justa. This historic elevator, also known as the Ascenseur de «Santa Justa⟫ or the Elevator of «Santa Justa>>>, offers stunning views of the city and is a must-see attraction for any visitor to Lisbon.
Located at Trav. do Alecrim, 1, the Elevador de Santa Justa is a true architectural gem. Designed by Raul Mesnier de Ponsard, this elevator has been in operation since 1902 and continues to be a popular tourist destination in Lisbon.
As I rode the elevator to the top, I was amazed by the breathtaking views of the city below. From the top of the Elevador de Santa Justa, I could see the beautiful rooftops of Lisbon, the Tagus River, and even the Castelo de São Jorge in the distance.
After my visit to the Elevador de Santa Justa, I stopped by a nearby restaurant called COMER. Located at Tr. do Alecrim, 1, this restaurant offers delicious Portuguese cuisine and is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal after a day of sightseeing.
Overall, my experience at the Elevador de Santa Justa was unforgettable. The views, the history, and the architecture all combined to create a truly memorable visit. If you ever find yourself in Lisbon, be sure to add the Elevador de Santa Justa to your itinerary – you won’t be disappointed!
