STOP FEEDING ME FOOD Slaughterhouse waste supports a $10 billion per year pet food industry. This waste includes bones blood pus and possibly diseased and cancerous meat and is often contaminated with Salmonella. Euthanized companion animals were found to be used in pet food in 1990. The pet food industry denied it but the American Veterinary Association confirmed the report. Up to 97% of pet food is made up of grain products mainly corn. The industry uses splitting to make it appear there is less grain than meat in the ingredients list.
