The postcard features the gate entrance to the Gardens of the Royal Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Governor’s Palace was built between 1706 and 1718 and served as the center of fashion and social life in Colonial Williamsburg. The building has been reconstructed on its original foundations and refurnished, and is now open to the public for inspection.
