The postcard depicts The Cabildo in New Orleans, Louisiana, which was built in 1795 as the seat of the Spanish Government for the Province of Louisiana. It is now a renowned historical museum in the United States. The entrance gates were a gift from the Spanish Government and are believed to have been crafted from iron instruments of torture used during the Spanish Inquisition.
